    Can you tell us what the shrine is all about.

      It’s called an ‘ovoo’ and you see them all over Mongolia, mostly at the top of mountain passes. They’re usually made from piled up stones, but sometimes people use sticks instead. People often stop, then circle them to ensure good luck (I think!) Slightly less glamorous is that chucking an empty vodka bottle nearby is common practice…..
